কহলিল জিবরানের সাথে আমার পরিচয় টা খুব একটা বেশি দিনের না,বড়জোর পাঁচছয় মাসের। তবে পরিচয়ের পর থেকে আমি সত্যিই মজে আছি,তার একেকটা কবিতা পড়ে আমি কেমন একটা নাড়ীর টান অনুভব করেছি। জীবনের বিভিন্ন অধ্যায় নিয়ে তার চিন্তা আর দর্শন আমাকে কতটুকু ছুঁয়েছে,আমি বুঝাতে পারবোনা।তার সাথে পরিচয়ের পর আমার একটা কথায় মনে হয়েছে ভালবাসা,হাসি,কান্না,ঘৃণার এমন সংজ্ঞা কে কবে দিয়েছিল??

জিবরান সম্পর্কে একটু বলে নিই-জিবরান ছিল একসাথে কবি,লেখক আর আর্টিস্ট।পুরো নাম গুব্রান কহলিল জিবরান।লেবাননে জন্মগ্রহন করলেও তরুন বয়সেই আমেরিকা চলে যায় তার পরিবার।১৯০৪ সালে তার প্রথম এক্সিবিশন হয়।ওখানেই তার সাথে Elizabeth Haskell এর পরিচয় হয়।দুজনের চেষ্টা সত্ত্বেও এলিজাবেথের পরিবারের কারনে তাদের বিয়ে সম্ভব হয়ে উঠেনি।অবশ্য জিব্রানের অধিকাংশ কাজেই এলিজাবেথের প্রচ্ছন্ন উপস্থিতি টের পাওয়া যায়।the prophet-লেখার পরপরই তার পরিচিতি আর দর্শন সারা পৃথিবীব্যাপি ছড়িয়ে পড়তে শুরু করে।জিব্রান এখন পর্যন্ত third best-selling poet of all time.
