After Centuries
-REHANUL HOQUE
After centuries
How many a visitor treads in the cathedral
Floats away with the music of
Orchestra and Organogram playing
Desperately seeks refuge to numerous
Sermon and canons
In an effort to explore the philosophy of life
But there are some who recurrently fails
To find a meaning to which everyone calls life
He knows not whether dead or alive!
History never changes her motion
Celebrates one who won the war
Founded a grand empire
Each stone and inscription thereon
Speak of unplumbed tear, overwhelming lamentation
And irony of exhaustion towards a goal-
History never cares for a defeated soul.
As usual
History shows her generosity
Creates room for a nonentity
Let him rest within her pages
Exclusive of prince and princess!
After centuries
How many a visitor treads in the cathedral
Wondering what a beautiful work of art
Indeed, history begins from here!
